The Ashcott Short Mat Bowls Club has been in existence for over 20 years that attracts members from the local area of all ages and abilities.\u00a0\u00a0It is a skilful game, which can be mastered relatively quickly with a bit of patience and determination.\u00a0\u00a0It also offers the chance to meet other like-minded people from the area in a friendly, sociable atmosphere. You will be afforded all the help and encouragement needed to help you develop the basic skills to play the game and understand the rules.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The club has several sets of bowls (woods) of different sizes to suit most people, and these are available for those who don\u2019t want to invest in their own equipment, all that is needed is a pair of flat soled shoes and a few lessons.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Ashcott Short Mat Bowls Club occasionally has friendly competitions with other clubs in the area, which is a great way to get to meet people from other villages and towns, usually accompanied with a cup if tea and a piece of cake.   This was a very nice evening at Bradford -on-Tone.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The club meets every Tuesday afternoon from 1:30pm – 4:00pm.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
